Working with Urethane Millwork When installing urethane millwork outdoors, always use non-corrosive nails, screws, and fasteners to helo in the prevention of discoloration to paint than rust can cause. Urethane millwork can withstand temperatures of about 140° Farenheit (60° Celcius).  Never place millwork where it will be subject to solar temperature build-ups, for example, behind storm doors, or near solar collectors.  It is no recommended to paint millwork with dark colors like black due to thermal build-up. Urethane millwork should be used for decoration and not for structural support.  The only exception is the Balustrade System, which has been engineered to provide structural support Urethane millwork is easy to repair.  Bondo, the automotive filler, can be used to fill dents or gashes of any size.  If auto body filler is not available, exterior-grade plastic wood filler can be used.  Broken mouldings can be rejoined using urethane base adhesive. After countersinking fasteners on the facings of your millwork, use Bondo, or plastic wood filler to fill the holes. l; Then sand the filled areas and touch up with paint.Always apply urethane base adhesive to the substrate, then face-nail the millwork in place before the adhesive sets up.  This allows the complete bonding of the product to the substrate. To assure a lasting bond, always use urethane base adhesive to join millwork joints. To obtain a professional look, exposed joints or cuts should be filled with caulk or filler, then painted.
